2. Juvenile Structure – Dermot Earley Academy
The Juvenile structure in Bantry Blues reflects the "GoGames" philosophy and the "Player Pathway" models endorsed by the GAA. The Juvenile Club has broken down its player development into 3 seperate phases, which each phase focusing on different things. Each Phase has a a co-ordinator
whose responsibility will be to deliver on the Development Program objectives..
(A) Nursery to U10's-  SKILLS FOCUS
A co-ordinator ensures that the maximum number of players are recruited to each age level from U5 to U10 by lensuring open communication with all local national school, and that over the 6 year period each child is fully accomplished in the 10 basic football skills, can kick with both left and right foot and can hand pass with both left and right hand.
Children will need to be acomplished in these skills for this phase to be a success

(B) U11 _ U14's -Introduction to Competition & Fitness
A co-ordinator will select a manager, coach and selectors to prepare teams over a four year period to win an All-Ireland feile. The co-ordinator will select coaches who will teach teams between U11 and U14 to learn the Bantry Blues way of playing football, to become accomplished in tactical play to win games using natural skill.
Players will graduate from this PHASE with a clear understanding of (i) Skills (ii) Fitness (111) Competition
(C) U15-U18 Minor
A co-ordinator will select a manager, coach and selectors to prepare teams over a four year period with the aim of a county minor title with an interim assessment made at U16 level by acheiving success in the county U16 championship. This PHASE will work on strength, nutrition and conditioning players (weights, diet, etc.) while perfecting the Bantry Blues play book at intense pace.
On graduating the best players will then go on to form an U21 panel (Senior reserve team) for preparation into the senior A team.

The co-ordinators will actively recruit coaches, managers and selectors who have the calibre to relate with children and teenagers within their age groups and with the expertise to reach the desired objectives. No manager will take a team from U10 into U11 or from U14 to U15, as a different skill-set is required for each academy. Co-ordinators will ensure that managers do not detract from their set
objectives and each manager knows what the other managers within their PHASE are doing. Co-ordinators will ensure that managers work closely together outside football to source funding, equipment etc to support their objectives. Co-ordinators should be excellent man managers, have excellent interpersonal and organisation skills that have the respect of the coaches, managers, selectors and players within their PHASE.
